REAL LIFE iPhone Xs Max 512GB vs Galaxy S9 Plus Speed Test

Here it is, the Real Life iPhone Xs Max 512GB vs Galaxy S9 Plus speed test you’ve all been waiting for. Why do I say “real life?” Because most iPhone Xs Max vs S9 Plus speed tests you’ve seen don’t give you a clear picture of how these devices will perform on a day to day basis. Most YouTubers do things like open 6 or 7 games, transcode video files, and a bunch of other things that you’ll never actually do in real life. The Techisode TV speed test focuses on the apps that you actually use on a day to day basis.

For those who are curious, both the iPhone Xs Max and the Galaxy S9 Plus are the factory unlocked versions.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8 NIV

Check out my S9 Plus vids:

Everything I did to make this a fair test:
-Both phones have been freshly factory reset.
-All the apps have been fully updated to their latest available versions.
-I rebooted the devices multiple times after the updates were installed to make sure the updates completed.
-I completely turned off bluetooth and GPS (from settings, not the control center)
-I took out the SD card in the S9 Plus to make sure it wasn’t doing anything in the background. This also makes sure no apps were loading from the SD card.
-Neither device had a sim card in it to prevent it from trying to access the network to download messages, voicemail, etc.
-Both devices were set to their max resolution.
-All power saving features were turned off on both devices.
-The latest available firmware was installed on both device.
-Both phones were on the same Wi-Fi network.
-Developer options were turned off on both devices to show you what the animations would look like right out of the box.
-The test section of the video was done in a single take to show that no apps were preloaded off screen.

Why do we all still do speed test? 🙄😂😂😂

  3. Timo Zandvliet says:

Look I appreciate that you did those tests… but testing the speed of both devices is not fair if you use mostly microsoft created apps. I mean that is the same as letting the samsung device load a app in English, and let the iPhone load the same app but then in Chinese. Apple and microsoft never work perfectly together.

  4. Marx Domah says:

Because two apps have the same name doesn’t make them the same. They are written in different languages for different platforms. They don’t have the same characteristics. The resources and assets are not the same size, types or even in the same memory locations. These are also built by separate teams. Web contents are not located on the same servers. Phones have different modems. Animations and I/O speed has a who lot to do.

Keeping apps in memory has less to do with ram size. It’s called random access for a reason. It’s random kicks out apps and keeps whichever it chooses.

    These test are fundamentally flawed.

Shouldn’t we wait for 1 or 2 updates for the iPhone seems not really fair to me
S9+ is well updated since it launched and the I phone has the first one at least till 12.1 or so

  17. Maryam Nazari says:

How does a s9+ with 6gb of ram end up relaoding apps? There is no wayyyyy that the iPhone is keeping all of those apps open with 3 gb of ram. Bullshit video.
